the cultural perception that play is an inherently childish thing is one of the worst ideas to come out of modern civilization (in my very not-humble and objectively correct opinion)
Ugh, was having a great time mocking my recently imprisoned rival when I noticed the camera positioning makes it so that I appear behind the bars, thus framing me as trapped in a metaphorical prison of the narrative, now my whole day is ruined. Fuck.
I get it, man. The other day, I survived a shootout, only to realize that a stray bullet went through a mirror in such a way as to look from the camera’s perspective like I got shot in the head through the mirror, so now I have to acknowledge that something that could be reasonably referred to as “me” really did die that day, and it’s just like “jfc, gimme a BREAK”
ugh dont even get me started on how the other day i tried to sit on the throne of my conquered foe and light a cigar to celebrate my victory but the lighter wouldnt work and it had to be lighted by the vizier who used to work for my enemy but that i enlisted to work as a double agent and help me in my coup. that jerk afterwards said with a devilish smile “ill always be at your service my liege” and i just KNOW that he said that exact same thing to the previous ruler. signifying that my victory was phyrric since i am still caught in an endless cycle of violence and betrayal. that really spoiled the whole mood
Capitalism will have people see you get a fun little hobby and say every time without fail “you should start doing this for eight hours every day for way less than your labor is worth because nobody actually wants to pay for handmade goods” no thanks! I’d kill myself!
Was talking with some friends and realized we all had wildly different ideas on how long a piece of media* had to be out before we could start talking about spoilers openly**. So, this poll is my attempt to see what most people think. (clarifications at the bottom)
How long does a piece of media have to be out before you can talk ‘spoilers’ without warning people/censoring yourself, etc
*For the purpose of this poll, “media” is movies, video games, tv shows, books, etc. Basically, anything that could contain what you would consider being “spoilers”.
**By “openly”, I mean in a semi-private place like in a group chat or non-spoiler designated discord channel, etc, not posting on twitter or here on tumblr or any other social media sites. Basically, a place where someone could get spoiled and not have a way of avoiding it via blocking tags/users or muting channels, etc
i actually dont mind tumblr posts reposted to pinterest. the 13 y/o “pinterest in the only social media my parents let me have” girlies deserve a little treat
